Stopping Dreamfeed
« on: February 23, 2006, 22:55:30 pm »
Hi,
My lo is a bit over 7 months old and is having 3 meals a day and a dreamfeed at around 10:30pm.
He still wakes though the night but not to be feed until 6am.  I was wondering when i should stop his dreamfeed and how to go about doing it.
I used to give him a df at 11pm but lo started waking around 10:30 for a feed.
Any suggestions would be great.

I'm in the same boat.  My lo is 8 mos old and we still do the dream feeds though I am not sure she really needs them now.  I've misplaced my book and need to find out how to eliminate the df.  I remeber Tracey saying that she gets rid of them aroun 7 mos b/c it starts to become to awakening for the lo.

Anyone have explanation of how to eliminate?

Hi ladies!!  :)
I'm actually in the process of making a sticky on the "HOW TO DROP A DREAMFEED" from Tracy's book.  Hopefully it'll be up in the next couple of days.  But in a nutshell, you take away an ounce from the bottle and move it up 1/2 hr.  For example if you are feeding 5 ounces at 10:30pm, the first night I would offer 4 at 10:30, then 3 at 10:00, 2 @ 9:30 until you are at zero.  Hope that makes sense.
I always dropped the DF cold turkey at 3-4mos with no problems.  Could you try that too and see what happens  :) ;)
