When to transition from 3 to 4 hr EASY?
« on: February 27, 2006, 13:57:21 pm »
Just wondering when people generally transition from 3 to 4 hr EASY?  Do you do a period at 3.5 then first?

My lo is almost 8 weeks. She's still at 3 hrs during the day, but is able to go 4-5 hrs at night.

hi, tracy suggests in the 4th month.  and that's how it worked out for me.  there were definitely obvious signs with bean...  he started waking really early in the morning, and in the middle of the night and his napping got waaaaaaaaaay shorter.

if you have her 'solves all your problems' book, there's a chart in there to show you how to transition when the time comes.  it worked great for us.

hope that helps.

I think that, even on 3 hour EASY, your baby will sleep for longer stretches at night.  Tracy's book suggests you transition to 4 hour EASY at 4 months.  Her third book has a good plan for making the change (I'm trying it right now).  In it, you spend about two weeks gradually moving your baby from a 3 to 4 hour routine.  If you have the book, it's on page 230.  If you don't, there's a post somewhere around here that has a link you can print the page from.

Thanks. I don't have that book. Does anyone know where the thread is where I can find the suggested plan for transitioning?

Here you go!

I am currently transitioning my dd as she is now 4 months.  Right now, I just have her eating anywhere between 3.5 to 4 hours, depending on how hungry she is.

I'm attempting to attach the page that Callum's Mum sent to me - it has the 15 day plan for transitioning from 3 to 4 hour EASY.

If this doesn't work, you can find the message under Sleep, then Night Waking, and the topic is "I'm So Tired."
