we've been down to 3 bottle for at least a couple of months. currently having 8:30, 12:30 and 7pm. if you look at the 6-12 mo EASY sticky you will see quite a few 9-12 mo olds on 3 or less bottles. HTH  You can go by his appetite so if he is taking 4 bottles but not finishing them etc or not particularly interested in 1 of them you candrop that one, but if he is happy and eatinga good amount of both solids and milk than let that be your guide.   Liv just really was not interested in her 3pm bottle starting at around 8 1/2 -9 mo and by 10 mo i stopped offering it

I'm surprised, reading through the many discussions, that it appears most LOs by 8-10 mos are taking 3 bottles a day.  That may explain why my DS, who is now 10 mos. is REALLY fussy at his 11am and 3PM bottles!  (We feed him formula at 7am, 11am, 3pm and 7pm).  These last few days he's been practically refusing the 11am and taking 3-5 oz at 3PM.  The morning and night feeds are at 7-8 oz.

I think it's time to switch to 3 bottles... which is FINE with me!  I hope this will cut down his tantrums during bottle time.  Any thoughts?

makes sene - in our case she was indifferent to the afternoon bottle so we dropped that one. i was advised that whichever one they take the least at  or refuse will be the first to go.sounds like he wants to drop the 11am and soon enough that 3pm one could turn into a snack.

My DS takes 3 bottles - 7:30, 2:30 and 6:30 - He is not particularly intrested in his 2:30 now, so think it may be time to drop that one soon.

My little boy is growing up  :D

Hello ladies.  Well... we tried it out and cut out his 11am bottle and rearranged his schedule a bit.  And he didn't miss the bottle at all!  And he was much happier today.  We also rescheduled his nap.  So now he's at 7am, 2:30, and 7pm for his bottles (and solids at 8am, noon, and 5pm).

May not seem like a big deal, but we've been so used to the old routine for SO long, that this seems monumental.

sounds good. they are always evolving their routines and things seem to change in the lead up to a year and then as they drop bottles over the second year... we are just in the process of dropping to 2 bottles now...
