L... thanks for the info, we actually got the same cup about 2 weeks ago from walmart in the states, it has different name, but looks like the exact same thing.

just last week noël started drinking more and more.  now in the late AM and early PM she takes 3-6oz of formula from the cup, whoo hoooo!  i was so excited when one day she just kept drinking and didn't spit it out.  i am still bf'ing early morning and right before bed.  i don't think she gets much.  she is still waking early, but some mornings she will go past 6, usually she is up around 5:30.  she hasn't had a lot of nw's though, so that is good.  i am hoping the more formula she takes she will start sleeping later, but maybe not.  but, i am glad she is finally taking it!  i am also giving her lots of cheese and yogurt, so i am not sure what else i can do at this point.

thanks for all of your input and advice, it is very appreciated!!!

Hello!  I just found this thread- since I just found out I'm pregnant!  and nursing (or trying to with my dwindling supply) my 9 mo old.

Is it really possible to nurse throughout a pregnancy?  My supply just keeps getting lower and lower and lower.  What can I do to keep it up?  I can no longer pump enough for her for daycare so she's now on a bit of formula...

I just want to know it can be done, and if so, how?

thanks!

Just saying hi... I 'belong' back on this thread - I am nearly 9wks pregnant, and still bf'ing dd2 (nearly 16mo) 2x per day.  Haven't noticed any drop in supply (yet) but my nipples are rather sore at the start of feeds.  I bf dd1 throughout my pregnancy with dd2 but I think perhaps dd2 won't be so accomodating when my supply starts to drop off... ;)

Hi, I am new member with a 2 year old son who has special needs (DS) and I am expecting another baby in July this year.

I currently breast feed my son on demand (numerous times during the day), which I love (when he isn't biting), however he won't take any other fluid at all.  I've tried various types of cup, bottle, straws etc but to no avail.  He will drink bath water however, which gave me this idea; last night he drank from a mixing bowl of warm, previously boiled water whilst sat on the floor.  The trouble with that is he takes in a lot of wind and puts his whole face in the bowl and I am scared he will drown.

He is also a very poor eater and hasn't gained weight for over a year now.

My health visitor, S&L therapist and other professionals seem to have given up on us.

Any suggestions would be gratefully received.

Hi everyone, i must say its great to have this thread, its good to know that i'm not the only one going through this.  With my dd i was working and didn't have much ms but i'm finding that now it seems to get worse with everyday, i feel quizzy and its just getting worse, not to mention when dd bfs it hurts so much, during and after and she seems addicted to the bub, i think that if it was up to her she'd have it 24/7..lol :D.  The problem is she wont drink regular milk no matter what i put in it so i guess i feel that i still need to bf longer....

Hope all of you are hanging in there and once again tnx for the thread it has been quite helpful

I thought it was a cool 'under the radar' type way of doing it. Hey - don't feel bad! My mum doesn't even know yet - it's been a matter of days.  :-*

Well it certainly was under the radar....  and it just goes to prove that being a bfing includes getting pregnant during the stint.  LOL

Congrats again.  I'm so happy for you and your family.

Hi all.  I figured I should probably pop on over here.

I'm Theresa, DS Aaron has been bfing for almost 2 years now (22 months).  I'm currently 12 weeks pg with my 2nd.  I'm at the point now where DS asks constantly for bf, but I loimit him to about 3-4 times a day max.  I'm starting to get frustrated with him, and I was telling DH this morning that if he decided to wean when my milk changes to colustrum in a few weeks, I wouldn't be too sad.  Well, I would be sad, but I'd be ok about it too.  I'm starting to worry about how he's going to react to having to "share' his "mippies" when he doesn't get to have them all the time.  But there is seriously no way I can handle 2 kids bfing constantly.  I'm totally open to and good with the idea of tandem nursing, but I remember the newborn "I have to bf 24 hours a day thing" and since ds seems to be a "I see it I want it" kind of kiddo, I'm thinking that I"m either going to have lots of 2 yr old tantrums or 2 kids attached.  EEk.

Thanks for listening to me ramble.   :-[

mommytsa - have you heard of this book? 'Adventures in Tandem Nursing' by Hilary Flower

Might be worth a read.
