.Again, so happy for you Ali!! Congrats!! Can't wait to hear all about your little bean in progress!

Ladies, I was just introduced to an international breastmilk sharing group today.... I made a post about it:

http://babywhispererforums.com/index.php?topic=182475.msg2079607#msg2079607

Just thought it could be helpful to some.  So happy to know there's alternatives to formula, and many who will donate wonderful BM for your little ones in your own community.

xo :-*

I think it is very admirable Rebecca. Not sure I would trust milk from someone I don't know TBH but great that it is there as an option for those who need it.

Hey Ladies.. How's everyone doing???

Still pretty much the same here... only getting about 4-5oz a day.. but it's still something.  SIL is still pumping for us :D  Also, I posted a link to Eats on Feets, a network to find milk donors a bit ago.  I joined the local chapter for my area and ended up meeting a woman who is a friend of a friend, and she's now pumping milk for DS as well :D  I still have to supplement, but the more BM I can get in him, the better! I feel really comfortable with the process, as both she and I share the same values and lifestyle when it comes to natural living.  :) Not to mention she is friends with a girl I grew up with, so that made the decision that much easier.  I feel so blessed to have so much support and so many people who care for DS's health.

Hope you're all doing well! xo

I guess I don't belongiin this thread anymore, we've dropped breast feeding completely, she was starting to reject the bottle again.  Good luck with your pregnancies, thanks for all the support!

Sorry to hear that too. You have given her a great start with the BM she has had up til now. You should be proud.
We are still BFing here and back up to at least 4x day. My nipples are so sore, not the actual boobs just the nipples. I had thought it was due to Cadan's new teeth but he doesn't bite me anymore and it is constant so I am thinking it must be the pg. Did anyone else get this and did it go away after a while or persist. It isn't bad enough to make me want to stop BF of anything.

I'm with you... it may go away for some, but my nipples are still very sore and tender.  Although DS has no interest in nursing anymore, when I pump the first few minutes really hurts... then I think they just go numb. But even when DS was nursing it still hurt... I think it's just the preg.  I'd try and keep at it if you can, but if it really hurts I don't know what else to suggest... I completely know the feeling. If I weren't so stubborn I'd probably give in too.. it really is painful

Thanks Rebecca. I'm not considering giving up BF cos of the sore nipples just wondered if I could dare hope it might ease off later in the pg. Oh well it's not like the pain of child birth I have to look forward to. LOL

haha! so true!! :D I'm glad you're sticking with it!

Oddly enough, after almost a month long nursing strike, DS decided to nurse last night before bed and again before his morning nap today.  I've been offering this whole time, but he'd usually giggle and start to suck him thumb.. not even interested in nursing whatsoever.  I decided to try again last night during our nighttime wind down and he nursed for like 15 minutes!  I think it's mainly for comfort, but at least he's nursing, and hopefully that will help my production. (if not to increase it, at least to sustain it.) :)  So that was good news I thought.

That's great Rebecca. Glad he is back enjoying the nursing. So much easier than pumping I bet. Long may it continue.

So today is day 3 and DS is still interested in the boob!!!! :D  Always before sleep, which is fine for me for now. I know it's not a habbit, as he can fall asleep fine on his own without it and is a good independent sleeper.  I'm just happy he wants to nurse again.  Although, I still plan on weaning him before DS2 gets here, hopefully this will last a couple of months, and *maybe* help my supply???? ... I'm still giving him his usual 3 bottles a day, and his ounces of milk/solids aren't decreasing, so I'm still sure the nursing is just for comfort... who knows, maybe a few more days and it will help increase my supply? At this point I'll take whatever extra my body is willing to produce.  Thankfully I still have my milk donor and SIL pumping for DS, so he's still getting lots of BM :)

Glad to hear that Rebecca. I'm sure it is stimulating your supply, even if he is drinking the extra while BFing at least he is getting more into him. DS is sick atm so is BF 5x/day and eating little solids. I am hoping it is helping to keep my supply up anyway. We had been down to 3x BF/day before.
