Pre-nap Awake Time for 9-10 month olds??
« on: March 05, 2006, 15:00:02 pm »
Assuming your baby has dropped the 3rd catnap, what amount of A-time is s/he getting pre-AM and pre-PM naps?

Right now my 9 1/2 month old is up for 2hr40min and 3hr respectively. But that has him waking to early in the afternoon (after good naps even) to stay awake until 7-7:30 without seeming overtired. And yes, he needs to stay awake then -- I need him to -- as he only sleeps 10hr30min at night no matter whether he goes to bed earlier or later. So 7:30 to bed has him up at 6am!

But I'm nervous about pushing his A time as he is newly reformed shortnapper, and is sensitive to being overtired.

Any input is greatly appreciated!!

Is 4.5 hrs too long to be awake from the PM nap till bedtime?
Assuming 2 good naps.

My DD is 7 months and dropped the cat nap at 5 months. Her awake time is 2.5hrs before AM sleep, 3hrs before PM nap and 3-3.5hrs before bed.

So:

7am Wake
9.30am - Sleep 1.5-2hrs
2pm - Sleep 1.5-2hrs
7pm - Bed

I find DD gets grumpy around 5.30pm so i put her in her jolly jumper which she really loves until 6pm which is bath time. Could you push out her naps a little?
