To be perfectly honest, in my experience, the df works for some and it doesn't for others.

My suggestion is to give it a week at least.  Perhaps your supply wasn't used to feeding at that time or maybe it will just take your lo a bit longer to get used to it.

I know when I initially started the df it didn't work for us for the same reasons, but the next time we tried, it worked wonders.  We have been doing it for months now.

If it doesn't work after a week, perhaps try cluster feeding, although this is just an uninformed suggestion.

HTH.

If you are still having troubles, please let us know and we'll do our best to help you out.

thank - i plan to stick it out for 1 week and if it doesn't work then i'll cluster.
Also last 3 days dd has woken up at 1.45am, i asked hubby to give the dummy instead last night to see if it was hunger or habit, but after 30 mins of nearly dozing but not quite i gave in to the boob juice.

I'm going to post a thread to ask for help with bf schedules.....

I agree - give it a few days to let your supply adjust. Quite a few people use df alongside cluster feeding so you could use both together. I found even with the df my LO would still wake up a couple of times at least at 4 months and he's not unusual. I'm off to look at your other post now!
