She can smell me
« on: March 06, 2006, 16:14:50 pm »
Hi  :)

Does anyone else feel that its hard sometimes to settle their baby for a nap because their baby can smell your milk?

I know she has been feed (a good one at that), had her activity and is ready for a nap, but the second I start holding her she starts routing at my breast or putting her fist in her mouth. If I get my husband to settle her, she will go down to sleep within 10 mins. Its great because he feels so good for doing this for me, but when he is at work its a challenge for me alone at home.

Anyone else experience this?

Tina

yes i had this problem too.  what i found worked with dd was one day out of pure frusteration - i ripped off my shirt (well...not completely literally...but close!) and put it in her crib with her.  to this day she still sleeps with that same old shirt and has a very hard time going to sleep without it.

We did the opposite, I put on one of my husband's tops or his bathrobe (at night) to settle logan, seemed to cover up the mummy milk smell!
