Two weeks ago i switched my baby to formula (he had been breastfed exclusively to that point) as I was no longer able to bf. This has been a complete disastre. Initially he refused a bottle, then began taking a bottle but onlya few ounces at a time, now he has begun to go entire days without eating and is pretty constipated too. As a result he is not sleeping well (at least i think its as a result!). he used to wake only once for feed at night (bedtime 8pm wake at 8pm).
He is now wakign evey hour so we virtually are not getting any sleep. He seems tired during the day (obviously) but not particularty upset. Has anyone else had this problem switching to formula? ANy ideas?

Hi I have just replied to your other post.
I do know that a lack of intake of liquid can also cause constipation. Is your lo refusing the bottle all together? Have you tried other bottles / teats, perhaps a faster flow teat?
Sorry i am just thinking out loud here.

yaya - is he refusing the bottle or the formula? - It's a bit concerning he went that long without eating, is he also getting solids?
How have you been getting on today?

we finally came to the bottom of it, he was refusing to eat due to thrush! so if anyone has a babby who refuses to eat, it could be down to thrush, infection or teething! thanx again everyone!
