Okay, I really do know the answer to this, but here goes anyways just so that I know Hunter isn't alone here.

He will eat anything at any time and anywhere .... except supper (5pm).  Supper is always hit or miss.  Generally here is his day for eating:

4-6 wakeup and sippy with milk (about 9oz)
sippy with juice when he's done the milk.  Generally drinks 2 of juice (smaller cups) and 1 of water daily
7  cereal with fruit and toast or waffle or pancake
10 snack with mommy and daddy's breakfast ... bites here and there
12  lunch, fruit mainly with whatever we are having, sandwich whatever
3 snack after his nap, usually just a couple of animal crackers
5 supper ... sometimes
7ish .. started offering cheerios with his milk as he had stopped drinking his night milk and he was waking earlier and earlier and we are trying to find out why ... other than being a toddler of course.

so .... do I just not worry if he doesn't eat supper, or do I offer him fruit which I KNOW he will eat??

TIA
Beth

Hi Beth,
It looks to me like Hunter is eating quite a lot anyway throughout the day.  What if you reduced the snacks and cut them out altogether after lunch?
We have the same problem with Harry, it doesn't matter what I cook for the evening meal, even if it is something he loves - he will take one look and decide he doesn't like it.  Some days are better than others.
If he has had a really bad day, I will offer him some toast, and he will almost always say yes.

That's all folks!
(Well, maybe another girl if I can convince DH!)

Yes you could try no snack in the afternoon.  Also you could give him a bedtime snack to get him through the night.  we used to give Ewan cereal up until he was 17 months and it was usually his bedtime snack.  We gradually made it smaller so that he would get used to having food further from bedtime.

We had to cut out the afternoon snack with our son because he would not longer eat dinner. It seems to be working for now.  :)

We'll have to try that ladies, thanks.  It's just that he is so CRABBY after his nap, no matter how long or short he sleeps, and it helps keep his mind off of the crabbiness.  Also, the cereal i am talking about above is cheerios or other adult cereal, he hates the mush now ... lol.

Thanks again, I'll get back to you on this one.
