constipation and weaning !!!!!

1. Hi my dd is 12/13 weeks old for the last week after stopping giving her dentinox in her feeds she has become constipated, I have been giving her water with sugar in between her feeds which has helped alittle but she still seems to be in pain whilst trying to poop has any one got any tips?

2.  My dd is also always feeding she has 6/7 oz bottles every 3 hrs and water and the last two nights she has been waking for feeds and since 8 weeks she normally sleeps right through is it too early to start weaning her??

Sorry for the dalay in posting back;

1. Not sure what dentinox is? Where  you advised to stop using it, if it worked?

2. I personally think it is far too early to wean her, it may be that you have to increase the nipple speed you are using on the bottle, in order for you to get more oz's in her. If she is waking in the night with hunger, it means she is not getting enough during the day. It is possibly a growth spurt she is going through.

is dentinox a colic remedy ? i would agree that 12/13wks is too early for weaning onto solids , it may upset your babies tummy .i would try the next size up teat/nipple and try upping the oz of feeds during the day .

I agree with the previous posters. It is too early to wean. I would up her feeds during the day. The nightwaking may be due to a growth spurt. At this age, I would feed her when she wakes at night.

yes dentinox was for colic since i stopped giving it her she didn,t have colic just problem with pooing. Hv suggested stopping dentinox once she got to 12 weeks. I also feel that 12 weeks is too early to wean but people of the older generation say that she needs solids.
She is already on number 3 teats for advent bottles and struggles with the flow from then I tried upping her ounzes but she struggles to take over 6 she is still waking through the night but when i feed her she only taking 3/4 oz lol

I know what you mean about mums, grans and aunties all says to give solids to get them to sleep through!! Been there, got the t-shirt!!

What do you mean by this, are they too fast? My friends & I personlly do not like Avent bottles, it makes our LOs very windy - I stopped using them.
