Are purred tomatoes okay to give?
«

I can't find any information on tomatoes, are they safe to give my 7 month old?
We make pasta and tomato sauce for ourselves and I would like put it in the food processor for her but i am not sure if tomatoes will hurt her belly?
Any thoughts?
Thanks!

I started my little one on tomatoes at six months and have had no problems at all. Now anything with tomato sauce is a favourite.

You'll see a lot of differing opinions on that one, but most guidelines recommend 10-12 mo. Reason is that tomatoes are very acidic and can be hard on the tummy. Your LO might be okay with them, so you never know until you try!

we didn't start tomatoes untill after 12months for reasons tylersmommy explained , even at this age he had a reaction . a lot of kids have an allergic reaction to tomatoes. now though he loves tomato sauce and he's fine . also Ryan is a refluxer so we held off.
