need a plan
« on: March 17, 2006, 22:34:02 pm »
Okay I need a plan to follow.  My routine is as follows.  My question is should I get his BF and meals at the same time or just slowly replace his BF with snacks.  Also what about the nursing first thing in the morning.  How do I deal with that since he is starving.
He is 8.5 months old, and I have to have him weaned by 11.5 months.  Also if you dont mind giving me a month by month routine to follow could you add cutting out the morning nap?  THanks!  If not don't worry about that part!

7:00am up and nurse
8:00 breakfast (3oz)
9:30-11:00 nap
11:15 nurse
12:30 lunch (3oz)
2:00-3:30 nap
3:30 nurse and snack (1-2oz yoguart)
6:00 dinner (?, anywhere from 1-3oz)
7:00 bath
7:30 nurse
Bed right after and asleep by 8pm
DF formula (4-5oz) at 10:00pm

After time change hoping to be from 7:30am to 8:30pm and will be cutting out the DF after that by moving it forward to 10pm and then cutting down the formula amount.

Firstly moving to 1 nap you HAVE to leave to him, if you force it you will have a cranky baby, my ds#1 didn't go to 1 nap/day until 21 months Yes 21 months.

Honestly in my opinion, you don't need a plan, once they get to this age (being solids starting to be equal to milk in importance) I think you work towards what works for you... EVERY BABY & FAMILY is different.
You could start dropping one of the day nursings & offering a snack first & it you think your lo is ready then you can offer solids before the nursing in the am too. As long as he is getting 3-4 milk feeds at 9months that is what is "recommended". Then by 10 you could drop to 3 & if you stop bf before 12mo then you really need to offer formula instead. I assume you are wanting to wean due to returning to work... but that would mean you could stil bf at some time of the day.

Like I said, you need to work with what YOU & JENCY need & not to a plan.

I thnk I would leave Jency at two naps for now, especially since he's up for 12 hours.....JMO
