How does "Teething" and "Separation Anxiety" disturb sleep?
« on: March 18, 2006, 15:32:16 pm »
Hello!  I just wanted to know how Teething and Separation anxiety manifest themselves at night; and if there are signs during the day that I can look for?
My LO has started to wake at night - not sure whether its teething or separation? I help him calm down, put him back in cot and wakes within 15 min. in pain? Sometimes, he'll start crying when I walk away from crib - separation?
Has anyone had experience with these? How did it affect your LO sleep?
Thanks  :-\

have you tried giving your lo tempra/tylenol before bed?  that's how i differenciated between the two.  my dd sometimes will cry as i walk away too, and i find if i just stand over the crib (no eye contact, etc ) and keep my hand on her belly or chest (depending on how she is laying) for a min or two she will go to sleep no problem.  as for the seperation anx. have you tried a lovely with your smell on it? works wonders over here!
