Rolling onto his tummy at night and getting stuck
« on: March 28, 2006, 11:08:00 am »
My ds is 6 months old and in the last week keeps rolling onto his tummy at night. He then gets stuck because he can't roll himself back again and starts crying. He is now waking up all the time because of this. Any ideas?? He can roll himself back when he's lying on his playmat (sometimes) but because he's in a sleeping bag in bed I think he has less mobility, so can't get the momentum to roll back. But if I don't use a sleeping bag and use blankets instead, he'll just kick all the blankets off an no doubt wake up because he's cold.

If it's not one thing it's another with these kids eh?? Ideas welcomed

Hi there
'fraid to say its a phase and you'll have to ride it out! The fact he can roll back and forth during the day, hopefully it will be a short phase. Give him as much time to practice his new skill as you can during the day and it'll pass! In the mean time, chin up , I remember this phase well with my first DD, it was real fun and games!!!

Thanks to both of you. I figured it was a phase - it is just soooooooooooo annoying. I sure hope he's a fast learner.... ::)
