Your message has put a very big smile on my face Kimberly. I agree with Michelle it's a very special feeling to know that you are providing for your baby just as in pregnancy and giving that magical cocktail of immune- boosting, species- specific goodies. Way to go!!!

I am so glad to be the one my lo needs. The one she looks for when she cries. The one she needs when its time to eat. Just knowing that it is our special time. I love her lil smiles when she's full, I love the why she holds my hand while she feeds. Knowing that she is so healthy/happy makes me know I am doing something right in her life!!!!  I LOVE BREASTFEEDING!!

I was gutted when Harry stopped bf.  I really missed it. Everything about it. The way he would smile at me with milk dribbling out the side of his mouth, the way he would touch my face when he was feeding, the way he would stroke my hair when he got bigger (even now, stroking my hair is a comfort for him).
When I couldn't feed Sam and Lydia I was heartbroken. I tried, but they were just too small. Even latching on would knock them out! I pumped for 9 weeks with them.

This time though, I was determined! I am SO glad I stuck at it. We've had our ups and downs, and I've had to give some formula feeds but we're still feeding at 10 months!

it's horrible knowing that we'll not experience this again with future babies huh?  I'm enjoying nursing so much right now that it kinda makes me want to have another...

Ahhhhhh i'm glad its not just me then!!

Or me!

I love the relationship that I've had with each of my boys while they were/are breastfeeding.  I was reminded this past week that the benefits continue, even past a year.  (I know that, but it's good to be reminded.)  Isaac (13 months) was sick with a tummy bug, and when I told our pediatrician that I had bf'd him a bit, she just smiled & said that breast milk was the best & most gentle thing for him.  ;D  So he got the best stuff AND all the cuddles/snuggles that come with it.  Sigh.  That makes me happy to continue.

Awwww aww aww! I just LOVE this thread.

I've had low-grade mastitis for the FIFTH time this week now in four months. Luckily, I have a brilliant physio who gets rid of the blockages through massage and ultrasound, so I can avoid the antibiotics (touch wood. I've had to do two courses and it's horrible for me and the baby), and this thread reminds me of why I love breastfeeding so much and why it's completely worth it.

Here's another gorgeous little bf moment.

I love the way my son grabs for my thumb or finger and clings on while he feeds.

At first, I thought he just wanted to hold something so I've offered him a toy, but he always knocks it away and grabs for my hand. So he wants me!

Mae holds my breast instead!  If I'm BIP, she always pushes my top up so that she can still hold on lol.  It's a little embarassing have the whole world flashed, but it really sweet too :D

Edward has to have my hand under the breast he is feeding from the other rubbing my cheek or hair and his leg that is on the top he kicks. The other day when his dad came home from work he was feeding and his dad came over to give him a kiss and he growled at him for getting in the way of looking at me and because his dad did not move away and kissed his cheek he stopped rubbing my cheek and smacked his dad right in the eye.
