Honestly, I have stopped fretting about the time changes.  All my great plans usually end up blowing up, and if I just leave things be and let what happens, happen it just seems to work out.

I went 1 hr forward - the next morning I woke him 30 mins early, the following morning the same. He was 'correct' after that.

Like Lauren said, you could split the difference and wake him 30 mins different from the usuall time.  Going forward should be easier than going backward.  It just might mean that he's ready for a nap a little sooner b/c, for example, if you wake him at 7 am after the time change, his body would think it's only 6 am.  Babies bounce back from time changes much better than we do.  I plan on waking my dd at regular time according to the clock despite the change and putting her down for her nap early if she seems to need to do so.

I agree--the spring forward is so much easier with kids (I used to love "falling back", back when I could sleep that extra hour).  We don't do anyting and just enjoy the "later" wake-up for a few days--it always changes itself anyway.  And we were never on a strict time schedule--she woke up so stinking early for so long that I couldn't get myself into a regular wake up time.  But either way, you'll find it usually all adjusts within the week.
