bw from the begining?
« on: April 04, 2006, 17:37:47 pm »
Hi all,

I found BW at 4 months with my first daughter and it was a godsend.  It helped me so much to solve all of the major problems.  But now I am on #2 daughter and wondering how you even start implementing the BW.  She is 2 weeks today.

My biggest issue is trying to get her to sleep after we have had our eat and activity time.  She gives me cues that she is hungry again but mostly I think it is because she wants to feed to sleep.  She is a very even tempered baby and I am sure we can figure it out I just don't know where to start.

If you can tell me how you handled it I would sure appreciate the help.

Thanks
Alisha

Hi,

At 2 weeks I would think that concentrating on getting her on a good 3 hour eating cycle is a good start.

At 2 weeks this is what I did and even only went 2.5 hours sometimes.  I also tried to do a little something after each feed, usually just a diaper change and cuddle, then she was off to sleep again.

HOpe that helps

The feeding schedual is pretty good at the moment although I am like you...sometimes it is only 2.5 hours.  but then it ends up being every 3 hours with a little nip more before nap time to go to sleep.  how do you get rid of the nursing to sleep?  especially this young?

congrats on your new little one!

keep in mind that even if she's just a little awake when you put her down - notices that she's not in your arms or eating anymore - goes a long way towards sleep training.

our mods on the EASY board are also stars on getting a routine sorted out.  here's a link if you need it:
