Not sure what to do!
« on: April 09, 2006, 16:10:12 pm »
Hello every1!

My son is 7 months old today, and I'm not sure what to do when it comes to solids.  At 4 months, I've been giving him fruits off and on.
Like I said, I'm not sure what to do!  He gets 5 ozs of formula 4-5 times a day, and I try to give him a solid, but i don't have the worlds greatest memory, so I frequently forget. :-[

Can anyone give me an example of a feeding schedule?  Like what do you feed your baby, and how; anything would be great at this point cuz I'm sooo lost, and I'm afraid ive put a damper on his growth, and/or learning. :'(

HELP ME, PLEASE!!!   thank you, muchly.

Ok i assume you are feeding every 4 hours i will start the day at 7am but you can adjust it to when your day starts and ends:

7am - Bottle 5ozs
8am - Cereal mixed with formula start with a few tablespoons
Sleep
11am - Bottle 5ozs
12pm - Fruit mixed with cereal & formula start with a few tablespoons
Sleep
3/3.30pm - Bottle 5ozs
4.30pm - Veges mixed with cereal & formula start with a few tablespoons
6.30pm - Bottle 5ozs
Bed
Dreamfeed if you still are doing one.

You say you only give 5ozs could you try upping that to 6 or even 7ozs. I also said to mix the cereal with lunch and dinner only to thicken it a bit due to your babies reflux.
Just be careful of what fruit you give as i found alot upset my DD's reflux however at this age it SHOULD be settling down my DD's did at this age.

It may also help to get a journal to carry with you to write down what your lo and you do and when.  You may begin to see a pattern emerge, which will help you as well.  Natasha (the previous post) has a good jumping off schedule to work from.
