Favourite baby songs
« on: April 09, 2006, 17:40:38 pm »
Hi,

I would like to buy a CD(resp. DVD) with baby songs for my son. What are your favourite lullaby and baby songs CDs?  Could you advise me some of them?

Thank you,  Dana

Hey Dana--
I've got some favorites --
For mellower stuff, I'm a big fan of the Baby Einstein lullaby CD.  I also really like the Dan Zanes CDs for upbeat/fun things to sing along to CD.  If you're into classical, the "Beethoven's Wig" CDs are really funny (classical songs with funny words to them).  Elizabeth Mitchell is fun -- if you remember the "Ladybug Picnic" song from Sesame Street she sings that.  Laurie Berkner is pretty good to listen to as well - a bit livelier than Elizabeth Mitchell.
That's about all I can think of right now -- will get back to you if I think of more.

I have the Sesame Street Greatest Hits album and I love it!  It's got all the old favorites.  Also, anything Raffi is great, and also Baby Einstein.  The thing about BAby Einstein though is that we have the videos, and after hearing them a couple thousand times, I'm usually not in the mood for the CD.  We also got the soundtracks to "Sound of Music", "Mary Poppins" and "Annie" and I love those.

Megan likes the Lovely baby CDs by Raimond lap. They are designed especially for babies with lots of high pitched sqeaky noises and baby voices. They do a Lovely Baby Classics which is nice. There is a lullaby one too. The website has sample clips you can listen to. http://www.lovelybabycd.com

Thank you very much. We have purchased Laurie Berkner. It is really nice music. We think about Baby Einstein and Lovely Baby CDs too.

I recently came across a book/cd combo called Wee Sing.  I didn't buy it so I can't vouch for how they sing but I liked that there were lyric books, too.
