Can't tolerate milk!

Help.
My dd is almost 13 months old and I am unable to transition her from formula to milk.  She gets constipated and/or very firm bm's.  I have tried moving very slowly (only adding an oz. at a time) but she still has problems.  I have tried whole, skim and soy milk and they all do the same thing.  Anyone got any advice or ideas?????

have you tried rice milk . Ryan is on rice milk and it's a lot thinner . Ryan suffered with constipation badly untill we had him on meds . rice milk doesn't cause him a problem . whole milk was causing sleepless nights and aggrevating his reflux , that's why we switched . it has helped with his eczema too .

Does rice milk have the same amount of calcium? And can you get it easily?

We're having the same problems.

Jacki - if it's any consolation, apparently I had the same problem when I was a lo, I outgrew it when I was about 5, and now have no intolerance to dairy at all (apart from the waistline with all the ice cream ;) :))

we only have a choice of 2 supermarkets here , it's in both (tesco and morrisons ) on the shelf with UHT milk . rice dream in tesco (blue and white carton ) provamel in morrisons (purple carton ) .
  provamel is dairy free , lactose free . it says on the carton :-  a blend of water and rice with added calcium and vitamins.

Thanks girls.  It has been very frusterating because she is in alot of pain if she has the milk and the formula is very expensive!!  Ok...we are going to the Dr. this afternoon for shots  :P and I will ask him.  THanks for the info and good to know you didn't have any problems as an adult......btw, I am totally with you on the ice cream bit  ;).
