Baby refusing solids after eating well for a few weeks
« on: April 15, 2006, 22:05:35 pm »
Our 6 1/2 month old starting eating cereal a few weeks ago. He wasn't "good" at eating (very messy and his tongue seemed to get in the way a bit), but loved it and would almost jump towards the spoon. However, last week he refused to open his mouth at all. We tried for a few days and then gave it a rest and have started trying again. We've tried different cereals and just bananas (which he used to love), tried at different times of the day, tried in our laps, in his high chair, in his Bumbo chair, we've tried at different times of the day, after a breastfeed and before. Nothing seems to work. Any ideas??

Could he be teething? My DD just got her first tooth and before it came through she went off her food a little, she usually wolfs down her food.

Have you tried any apple, pear or veggie purees. DS was never a fan of baby cereal after the novelty wore off them (couple of weeks).
Has he reduced his time breastfeeding as well?

I don't think he's teething, but you never know. He seems to be breastfeeding as always, but has started waking up again in the night. It's like he's completely lost interest and won't even open his mouth at all for the spoon anymore. ??? ???

P.S. I'm totally clueless to these types of things but how do you do things like show appreciation and attach the tickers and photos?
