3 hour naps, anyone? (4 months old)
« on: April 16, 2006, 21:38:36 pm »
Hi,

My 4 son Ariel just turned 4 months. He sleeps 7-8 hours at night and takes two 2-3 hour naps during the day (in 24 hours he sleeps between 11 and 13 hours total). He does not nap at all after about 4 pm, and refuses to go to bed until midnight. I'd like him to go to bed a little earlier for my own sanity :) but I am afraid to mess up this wonderful 7-8 hour stretch he gives me at night. Should I still wake him from his naps after 1.5 hours?

He has never taken a pacifier and he is exclusively breastfed. I keep things as quiet as possible in the afternoon but he still does not seem to be tired until midnight. He is very active in the afternoon and wants to eat every hour, even though he is content with a 4 hour feeding schedule in the morning. I am at home with him all the time, I don't even take him shopping etc., so there is no chance that I may miss his signs of being tired.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Milena

So you are saying he doesn't sleep between 4pm - 12am? That is a long awake time for this age.
Could you post your daily routine for is please?
