Grain/oatmeal/rice...how much?

Okay - we just went to our 6 mo. checkup & the doctor said we can start feeding our lo cheerios/stage 2 foods (he started stage 1 at 4 months & is doing well with them)...so, how much oatmeal/rice cereal should I be giving with the added grain? He gets formula mixed in with the oatmeal but some of the stage 2 foods have oatmeal/rice mixed in...I'm just wondering what others feeding schedules look like & how much you all are giving your lo's about the same age...thanks!

It's really up to you...since most of his nutrition is still coming from formula at this point, you don't have to worry too much about balancing everything out. You'll know when he's getting too many grains because they tend to be pretty constipating.
