How do I stop habitual night wakings in 8.5 month old?
« on: April 17, 2006, 12:03:37 pm »
Hi!

I was not sure for a while if my dd was waking due to hunger or habit,  but for the last few nights I have really been paying attention and it is definitely a habit!
Tracey says in her book to wake them before they wake you, has anyone tried this?
What is a good way to wake my lo and should I wake her right up or just get her stirring around a little?

And the most important question... will it work!!?  ::)

TIA!

different things work for different lo's...but it is worth a try - i haven't used it myself but know of many ppl who have tried and it was successful. the idea is not to actually wake lo, but to just get her to stir a bit w/o waking too much kwim?  usually just a hand on the tummy or back does the trick. good luck!

I´ve tried this, and it really worked.
My DS used to wake at 4 a.m. and in set my alarm at 3, and just said his name, and remove the paci....when he opened his eyes I put the paci in his mouth again and settled him....I did this 3 nigths in a row, and this nasty habit dissappear....My DS was 4.5 months old at that time.
Now at 8 months my problems are different.  But at that time it worked wonderful!!!!
Good luck!
