Frozen Food

Hi,
Can anyone help: I cook all food for my ds, but had a thought regarding freezing. If I use frozen raw chicken breast, defrost, cook a meal, can I then re freeze?  ???A lot of packaging says DO NOT REFREEZE. I asked my mother about this and she said it was ok as the food was not getting refrozen again raw, but cooked.

I am not convinced. I don't mind with things like lamb etc but not chicken, as you can get food poisoning much more redily.
Can anyone help with this? I have lots of meat in freezer, but am reluctant to use it.

Hi

I use frozen chicken, cook then refreeze even when batch cooking for the family & DS. In one of my books it mentions about reheating chicken, but I am at work at hte moent so I will look later.

Hi, there should be no problem thawing raw chicken, cooking it and the freezing it again.
Just make sure it's cooked properly, cooled thoroughly and then reheated all the way through,
