Nap training now or next month??
« on: April 17, 2006, 23:06:30 pm »
Nathan is 11 weeks today.  He is a great sleeper at night sleeping from 9-6:30 the past 12 days except 2 nights he woke at 4, ate, and went right back to sleep.

So our problem is naps.  I am a teacher and my leave is over May 1st (2 weeks) :-\ I will only work the month of May, then I am off for the summer.  My mom will keep the kids and I don't want her to worry with nap training.  So that leaves either the next 2 weeks or June when he is 4 months.  He will sleep really well in the swing or my arms ::)  i have tried putting him in the crib and sometimes he will go to sleep but only for 10 minutes or so.  When I go in he either cries or talks and laughs at me.  I have tried shhh/pat but it does not seem to work yet.

Should I wait until he is a little older??  I almost hate to spend these last 2 weeks with him and me being frustrated!!  What should I do??

I would wait.  I wish I would have waited until the 4 month mark.  I had a friend tell me to wait until then, she has 4 children, I should have listened.  I became really frustrated and looking back now, the 4 month mark or soon after was when she started to get it.
I would give you mom some things you think are important to keep, i.e. not feeding to sleep, rocking to sleep, etc...whatever is important.  But other than that..enjoy your two weeks and wait until month 4.  good luck
