you could do it either way with formula or with bm. with formula add water, with bm reduce minutes! i wouldn't suggest sugar water though as it will not be good for lo's teeth or gums kwim? you could do plain water also, but without lo gradually being weaned then i think that could probably lead to more wakings as water itself is digested quicker than formula and lo won't have a chance to get in more day calories to make up for the lost ones at night.
