Drinks for LO
« on: April 20, 2006, 10:49:50 am »
Me again....

What (if anything) do you give your LO's to drink? Since introducing solids a few weeks ago, I tried Lo with cooled boiled water to bring up wind after his meals, but he wasn't keen. My friend has been giving her LO (the same age) pure orange juice diluted with water - is that ok? Does he need any extra fluid now that he has solids?  ???

Thanks....can you tell he's my first?!

Jo

Hi Jo
I don't think it matters if it is your first or not. I am just starting my 6 month old on solids, she is my second but totally different to my first! My 6 month old doesn't drink any thing yet except for breast milk. I have offered her water but she just spits it out. My son, however, was on the bottle from very early on and used to have very watered down pear or apple juice (about 70% water/ 30% Juice). He used to like this a lot. I tried him on water but he was never interested.

Kind regards
Joanne :)

same here at that age we would give him a few oz of formula to wash down with . at 7 months we offered water but he wasn't keen . we then watered down white grape juice and he loves it . he loves water now too !

I always gave DD water with her meals, she wasn't to sure to begin with but now drinks it no problems. We have also started giving her milk with her meals.
