When to start 3 meals a day
« on: April 24, 2006, 11:47:09 am »
DD has been on solids for about 5 weeks.  She has meals of it a day, cereal and a fruit or veggie.  I was wondering when I should start the 3rd meal.  She is currently BF and BB, when I BB her she only takes about 4 ounces.  I am afraid if I start another meal that will decrease and she will not be getting enough liquid.  Any thoughts??

On a side she still gets up 1 time a night to eat.  She is up a couple other times besides but I guess thats a different board   :) :)

Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!!!

You can start the 3rd meal whenever you're both ready. How much solids is she eating? The trick to keeping her bottle intake up is limiting the amount of solids she has at each meal, so introducing a 3rd meal won't necessarily make her bottle intake drop. It just depends on how much she's eating the rest of the day.
