Does teething cause night wakings??
« on: April 24, 2006, 14:10:42 pm »
My 6 month old has been sleeping through the night for about 6 weeks now. A few days ago she cut her first tooth, now she seems to be waking very frequently at night. She also has a harder time falling asleep at night. She settles herself back down and goes back to sleep, but I don't know how to be sure that there isn't another problem. Is there anything I can do to make this easier on her??

Hi.  You can try giving her a pain reliever before she goes to sleep (Tylenol or Motrin is what I use).  The teething might not be bothering her too badly if she's able to get back to sleep on her own.  Good for you!  I hope they break through soon!  Good luck!
