Starting to wean

Hi there! Have finally been given the go ahead to start weanind DS 6 mo and 1 week (who has been diagnosed with pretty bad reflux)
Any tips on getting started and helpin gto get rid of the spitting reflex?''

Yaya, what do you mean by spitting reflex? Do you mean spitting up, or do you mean that your lo is spitting food back out again? If you mean spitting back out again, then it sounds to me like he hasn't lost the reflex yet that makes them spit back out things that get in their mouth. That wasn't very articulate I know but I can't think of the right words right now.  ;)

But, root vegetables are excellent for babies with reflux. Carrots, sweet potato, white potato, that sort of thing.

Thanx! yes I meant he spits things  out! Sorry I wasnt very articulate either!?  Actually had first solid meal today and went very well! He was sort of sucking off the spoon tho, is  this normal?

Our doc at the hospital got ur to try with baby rice and veg and rabbit (?!?!?) to start with..smells gross but DS seemed to like it!

I wouldn't worry about the sucking off the spoon, since the los are used to sucking to eat it might take a few tries to realize that they don't need to do that and learn to eat in a different way.  :)
