DF & Schedule Changes
« on: April 29, 2006, 00:30:38 am »
My lo is 11 weeks old.  I am doing the DF at about 10:30 p.m.  She goes to sleep for the night at about 7:30 and wakes up for the day at 7:30 (no play time after the 7:30 feeding and then no play time again until 7:30 the next morning).  She stills wakes at 1:30, but she'll go back to sleep with a paci.  Then she'll wake about anywhere between 3:30 and 5 to actually eat.  How do you keep the schedule though?  If she eats after 3:30 then it's just a few hours until her wake time of 7:30.

I work out of the house three times a week and need to bring her to my mother-in-law's by 8 and I don't want to get up before 7 or so on the weekends so I like the 7:30 wake time.

What i used to do with my DS, was feed him at 4-5ish am when he woke up humgry, and then i set my alarm clock at 7:30 and feed him his "breakfast" then, i didn't care if it was only a few hours past the nigth feed, 'cause if i didn't wake him at 7:30 or hole day was thrown away, so it worked really well. He cutted the 1-2ish am feed at about 12 weeks, and when he started waking up (after cutting the 1-2ish am feed) hungry at 6am i gave him only 1 or 2 oz, to hold him off until his "breakfast" at 7:30
Hope this helps

Thanks.  I'll try doing that.
What was his bedtime?  Did you do a dream feed also?  What time?

His bedtime was 8pm, and i used to give the DF at 11pm.

if you want a more complete look, i'll post his routine at that age:

7:30- wake up
8:00- bottle (2-3oz)
9:30 sleep
12:00 bottle (4-5oz)
1:30 sleep
4:00 bottle (5-6oz)
5:30 sleep
7:00 bath and massage
7:30 bottle and book (5-6oz)
8:00 bedtime
11:00 DF
he woke once between 4 to 6ish to feed.

We changed the 3hr routine to a 4hr routine at 10 weeks, but i don't know if your LO his on a 3 or 4 hr routine.

Thanks for the log.  My lo is only about 10 pounds so I thought I'd wait until she's closer to four months and a little heavier to start the four hour routine.  Her 11 week birthday is today so I'm thinking of doing 3.5 hour routine for a few weeks before starting the four hour.

I'm going to print out your log and see how ours compare so I can figure out how to adjust her schedule.  It seems like she's changing a lot over this past week and will continue to change a lot.
