a pink one - that's hilarious

The super baby food book says that it's okay to give 4-6 oz of diluted juice a day, but  no more than that to not affect the intake of milk.  We are trying to hold off on juice so I offer her water with all meals. We have the nuby cup and she loves it!  She doesn't end up getting too much water but it helps when things she's eating just won't go down.  That is a great suggestion, I think we may try it

Kelly, my nephew had a pink one... my sister couldn't get another colour & as she wanted it that day, she just got a pink one

I actually only offer water, I know that once I started my toddler on any dilute juice, he took a preference to it over water, so Liam only gets water... unless he is "cheeky" enough to find one of Aiden's drinks with juice in it  ;) ;)

I offer water or ebm at all meals & also before all naps & any time that either Aiden or I have a drink... Liam is a bit older, but he is having 3 bf & a sippy with 100mls (3oz) of ebm each day + 1.5 -2 sippys of water (about 10oz total)

Thanks Kate

I was also adament that Zander would only have water and not juice but a while back when I wondered whether he might be getting thirsty I tried juice to see if he was more interested - of course he was!  I usually give a tiny bit of pure fruit juice diluted with lots of water so I don't suppose that's too bad.

I got Zander a cup of water ready to offer him at his early morning waking this morning but he woke at 4am screaming his head off.  I gave him teething gel and medicine for his cold but I also made him have some sips of water and ... he slept until 7.15am  :o  So now I'm on a mission to get him to drink more during the day  ;)

Thanks for the great advice!

Hi Natasha

Thanks for asking.  It's no different really - he's eating lots (2 snacks some days!) and drinking much more but he's still hungry early in the morning, or so it seems!  I tried w2s at 4am 2 days ago and then he woke at 5am.  After half an hour of trying to re-settle him without success and the feeling that my right boob was going to explode I figured he mustn't have had enough milk the previous day and sure enough he had a 10 minute feed and then slept until 7.30am.  It's so hard thinking that if he was formula fed we might not have this problem - I really would like it to work out with me breastfeeding him so I suppose I might just have to put up with it.
