defrost

ok, this must be a dump question.

i think normally we take baby food out from the freezer overnight and put in the fridge to defrost, then heat in the hob/microwave.

what if you forget to take it out from the freezer? do you use the "defrost" function of the microwave and then reheat?
or simply heat it longer than normal?

Hi personally if I forget to look out 3 meals to defrost (which is most of the time) - I put them in the micro at full power for approx. 45secs, normally it would be 30secs for defrosted food. This makes sure they are piping hot and heated through and I then allow them to cool.

If I needed to take stuff right out of the freezer, I'd put it in the microwave on high just until it started to melt. It usually still had some ice in it, but could be easily squished with a spoon. On my microwave, that was usually about 20-25 sec. That would get it to about room temp or slightly cooler.
