sucking on food
« on: May 04, 2006, 13:13:38 pm »
hi my baby is 20 weeks old and has been on solids for 6weeks and she is doing really well. I was wondering if she is able to suck on food, such as rusks and chocolate she already has her first tooth cutting and all things go straight to the mouth.

Hi
My DS is 24 weeks and I'm also curious if you give rice rusks or any of this type food this young. I'd also be worried of choking. I would definitely say no to chocolate, for one thing there's a bit of caffeine and most chocolate is processed at same factory as nuts, which is not recommended until 18-24 months.

You could try using a mesh feeder bag.  You can put frozen (to help with those teeth) fruits (pears, banana, avacado, mango) inside and let them chow down.  I would definatly avoid the chocolate.

In the UK you can also buy baby rice cakes.
