Increasing routine time
« on: May 07, 2006, 16:44:16 pm »
My lo has starting only eating 4 ounces every 3.5 hours over the past few days.  So I was going to start working to the four hour EASY (she's 12 weeks old).  But she still only has wake time for an hour or a little more which means she's still sleeping 2 hour naps and 12 hours at night.  That's about 18 hours a day.  That's a lot for a 12 week old isn't it?

Some babies need more sleep than others, and there's nothing wrong with that.  If things are going smoothly for the most part now, she's still eating at feed times and napping very well (good for you!) I wouldn't rush into a 4 hr routine just yet.  Maybe give her an extra 15 mins after waking up to offer the feeding.  Even 15 mins can make them more hungry.
