« on: May 08, 2006, 08:15:15 am »
really not sure where to post this so please feel free to move it...

i was basically looking for some advise about taking my babe on holiday to tennerife.
he will be nearly ten months old.  we have never been on a plane together. can he drink bottled water for the durationof the holiday?  should i take jars of food as he is veggie and we often struggle abroad, eating mainly pizza.  and any other tips for things i havent thought of??!!

I would think you could bring enough jarred food for some of the trip, that way you know you would have it for some meals.  Not sure of the geography involved with your trip, but do you know if they have the same stores by you as they do where you're going?  If you know the stores are similar, you can just buy what you need so you don't have to worry about packing it - if you're not sure, I would pack the food.  As for bottled water, do you mean in place of formula/breastmilk or in addition to it?  Bottled water is fine for water, but I would think at 10 months, he would still need some sort of milk feed.

Sarah-
I've given my DD bottled water for quite awihile now, or water that has been filtered.  I'm not sure about the mineral/salt issue though -- I haven't heard of it being a problem, at least here in the US.  It seems like it would be ok, though if in doubt, you could always ask your doctor about it.
