removing props
« on: May 08, 2006, 23:45:04 pm »
Hi all,

My 2 months old baby girl was used to calm herself with a pacifier before she went to sleep. Now she has a new game of throwing it away and than trying to reach it again. So I'm giving her the binky anymore. Unfortunately, now she's getting used to falling a sleep with the bottle. I tried to employ the EASY approach but she always wants to eat before she goes to sleep.

How can I tap on the back a back sleeping baby? Is there any other way other than shh,shh and pick-up-put-down to make her calm?

Thanks,
Tuty

Hi Tuty:

As it sounds like you have decided to wean the paci, I will suggest the gentle removal that is posted at the top of this forum.

Also, I will be moving this post to the EASY forum so that the ladies there can be of more assistance  ;)

Thanks for your response!

Unfortunately I can't find the post about weaning the paci. Could you please send the link?

My DD was always a back sleeper.  What I used to do is the pat on the arm or the shoulder gently.  Or gently smooth in downwards strokes on her tummy.
