Get an excersaucer??
« on: May 11, 2006, 17:18:43 pm »
MY husband and I are thinking about getting an excersaucer for our 5 month old..  Do you use them a lot (those that have them)?  And do your babies like them?  They are expensive, so we want this to be something that is worth our money.  She loves to be on the floor, but we were thinking for the times that we need her up and playing on her own, it would be good.  What brands do you use?? Thank you!

HI
My DS loves his. We've been using it for about 2 months now but in the past few weeks he's been liking it more. He'll be 6 months in a few days. The one we have is by evenflo. There aren't very noisy toys on it though. A friend has one by leap frog and the toys look more interresting and noisy which babies like. If we would of chose ours, that's the one we would of got.

We had a Graco and we used it A LOT between 5-10 months; in fact I would say it was one of the best purchases we made for the little one.  Certainly worth buying!

We have the Baby Einstein one and have used it soooo much.  You are right, they are expensive but worth it.  Don't wait any longer though, so you can get use out of it immediately.

We started using the Exersaucer with DS at 5 months and he still goes in it (11 months).  Sometimes it is so he can watch Baby Einstein.

Check the heights on which ever one you decide.  Some go up higher than others.  We are able to still use ours because it can be raised more than most.

Out of everything we have bought Will his exersaucer has been the most value for money - he adores it and it has helped him gain strength and mobility. I say go for it!
Here he is in his saucer!

We love the Graco Baby Einstien!  One of the advantages to it was that it went up to 32" in height as a lot of others only went up to 30" and DD was BORN 22" long - so we wanted to get our $ worth.  She lOVES it.  ONe caution and if you look at the BIG pic in the post above...you see those little feet that stabalize the saucer....my nephew broke ours and we had to (Babies R Us) replaced it.   Our nephew leaned HARD on one of the push toys and it happens to be over the fittle "foot" and it broke.

Have fun with it.   Our DD loves the floor but there is something to be said for upright play.

My Jess loves her's as well. It is not an Exersaucer, but pretty much the same thing. It is Kolcraft (2-in-1 Baby Sit & Step). Once they start walking, it turns into a walker.

Well, I just bought the Baby Einstien one, and I put together when we got home.  She already loves it.  She was laughing and could not stop spinning around and looking at/playing with the toys!!  Thanks again, and I will post a picture, when my husband gets home to show me how!

OK, I just have to say that after reading this thread and seeing the CUTIE-PIES  (LOVE the pictures!!)all enjoying their exersaucers - I'm out to get one this weekend as well!  I thought dd might be too young, but looks like I could have started the fun months ago! ;)  -great information from all the mommies, it's so much easier making a big purchase like that for a lo when you see these kinds of responses!  and the pictures to back them up!! ;D

Yes Scarlett...you lo is the perfect age! I actually had Jessica in one when she turned 5 months! Her little feet couldn't touch the ground then, but we just put a box top under feet so she could. I am sure you lo will love it! It was a great investment for us!
