Marcipan?

DD's 1st birthday is on Saturday and I would like to buy for her a cute cake. The nicest I've seen here have a coating of marcipan on top.

I am a bit concearned, since marcipan has a certain amount of nuts.... Should I go with it or should I just bake some muffins for her?

What do you think?

Sorry this is a bit late, it's made from almonds, which I think are less allergenic.  ?take the icing off hers?
