Can't read my DD sleepy signs anymore!
« on: May 13, 2006, 14:53:39 pm »
Cal's Mum recommended a new routine (3 hr) to me which I started with yesterday.  I was letting my DD (3.5 months) stay up to long in between feedings and naps so she was overtired.  It seems that when I think she should be getting tired, she is wide awake.  I feel like I have forgotten how to read her.

Also, this is probably a silly question but I don't know if I'm putting her down correctly for naps.  I normally giver her her paci and rock with her for a couple of minutes, pat her rear until she gets sleepy wandering eyes then lay her down.

Thanks,
Ami

How long was she staying up? Every LO is different, but at her age, 1.5 hours might be max. What is her temperament though?

Also, you may want to start rocking her less - ideally you'll start getting her into the crib sleepy but more and more awake.
