HI,

My DD would never wake up enough to take the breast either.  I didn;t do a DF and settled for the fact that I would do a 4AM feed instead.

It is up to you.  Either leave it for a week or so and try again, or dont stress about it, it doesn;t work for everyone.

HTH,

Richelle

I tried the df with my lo when I was still bf and now that his is bottle fed, the thing is still the same.....he doesn't want to do it.  Now that he is bottle fed I can see that he doesn't take much.  My lo is much older (almost 5 mo) but after posting on here a while, I think I may take some others advice and just forget about it.

Your lo should be waking through the night for a while longer at that age.  :)

my 10 wk old won't take a df unless her last feeding takes place before 7:30, which usually never happens- she always wakes for an extra feed around 8:30 and is so hungry.  I usually end up feeding her, but then she won't take the df.... unless I try the df at 11:30 (even then she'll only take 2 oz.)

also- she never takes it if I try it through breast feeding- only if I pump and bottle feed the expressed milk, that way I can put the bottle in her mouth and she tastes the milk and will start sucking. If I give her the breast, she won't even open her mouth no matter how hard I try....
