Nap time too long?
« on: May 18, 2006, 01:15:50 am »
Hi,
I was just wondering if my lo's naps are sufficient for him.  I tried to wake him up early today from his last nap and he cried for about 10 mins and then I figured out he needed to nap longer.  So I put him back down for another 1/2 hour.  I was wanting to try to cluster feed as he didn't eat very much today but that didn't happen since lo wanted to sleep.

Lo usually naps for about 1.5-2 hours for the 1st nap, 2nd nap varies in time depending if we are out and about so ds will sleep or catnap in the stroller or car and the 3rd nap is about 1.5-2 hours.  Occassionally, there will be the 45 min naps which I try to extend if ds is cranky.

Here's our current 3.5 Easy schedule:

7:30am    Eat  (Breastmilk in a bottle)
9:00am    Sleep
11:00am   Eat
12:30pm  Sleep
2:30pm    Eat
4:00pm    Sleep
6:00pm    Eat
7:30pm    Sleep
10-10:30pm  Dreamfeed
3am-4am   Wakes up sometimes for bottle sometimes just because

If lo can nap 2 hours for his 1st and 3rd nap will this be too much sleep for him?  Will if ruin his biorhythm for night time sleep?   I've noticed that he's been waking up more frequently at night lately but sort of naps well in the day.  I'm just wondering if I'm ruining his biorhythm.
