catnap and bedtime question
« on: May 18, 2006, 19:07:36 pm »
Hello!
My son is 6mo old and on 4 hour EASY. He's pretty textbook as far as routine goes. Sleeps every 2 hours and eats every 3.5 or 4. His naps are 1.5 - 2 hours in length.

I have one question, however. Quite often his 45 minute evening catnap time will change. Some days he'll take it at 4....other days its as late as 5:30.
My question is this - should I always keep him up for about 2 hours after the catnap? He always seems tired and ready for bed at 7 - 7:15 no matter what time the nap falls.

thanks!

Just on a break @ work, and thought I would reply to you...
I noticed around this time..or maybe a tad bit later that my son dropped his cat nap. If they need it though...and thats up to your LO of course lol.....then there is no set time to have to keep them up until, or after the cat nap.
My son used to catnap till 5, then in bed @7..sleeping. So, once I saw a change in the cat nap..getting later etc...I took it as a sign that hedidnt need the cat nap as much..and I began to try to extend his A time between last nap and bed time.

Try dropping the cat nap and moving bedtime to 7pm :)  or even just moving bedtime to 7 PM
