Refusing to take the dream feed!
« on: May 19, 2006, 08:51:58 am »
I started harriet on the dream feed and she used to take it fine, but the last 3 days she has stopped taking it and turns her head away, won't swallow or suck and i've only managed to get 2oz down her and then had to give up as this has taken half an hour!! She is very restless at nite, but then she always has been up every hour!
I do pu/pd  and have been for 2 wks now but it doesn't seem to stop her rewaking!!!
What am i doing wrong??????

Help from a very tired mommy!

hi
What age is your LO?

You probably are doing nothing wrong, not all LO's are suseptible to a DF.

Hi

What times are you giving her solids? Her stomach may not be ready for this yet and it is causing her to feel uncomfortable during the night.

Can you try moving the solids to lunchtime and see if that makes a difference?

Hi Callums mum, I moved her food to earlier and she took the dream feed last night and only woke twice at 3am and 5am then she drank her bottle at 6.30am. She was much more settled, but early days.
I also realised she may have been sleeping too much during the day so i made sure she only had 31/2 to 4 hours yesterday, don't know if this helped too!!!
I'll keep you updated,  thanks for the tip

Hi!
Did exactly the same as last night and yet harriet was up agin at 2am, 3am, 4am and the i got her to sleep with me then put her backin her cot.  She would only take a bit of her dream feed as well?? I'm confused, She seems to be in pain as she doesn't wake completelty she just fusses and kick her legs and then passes wind and settles back down for a while!! Then fidgets agin kicking legs moaning and again passes wind and settles back down. I just don't know how to solve it?   Any ideas?!?
