Feeding too much??
« on: May 20, 2006, 06:13:23 am »
My daugther is 11 week old and is usually breast-fed, when we give her the bottle, she usually takes 4-5 ounces. She usually stops in the middle and then after burping we give her the bottle again and she usually takes it. Today she drank more than 5 ounces.

Are we not supposed to offer her the bottle again once she stopped (while pumping for about 15 minutes I express about 4 ounces)?

Would too much feeding increase her stomache size and would require more feedings?

Thanks,
Tuty

My LO was like that too.  Always drank that much at that time period.  I wouldn't worry too much about it, she's hungry and you are feeding her.  Now my LO is 4 months and drinks 6-7oz at each feeding, and she's no chubby baby, she's really long though.

That's so true!  I had to pump because my dd didn't like bf at all, well she liked it but always fell asleep and feeds were lasting up to 2 hours!  and I could never produce near enough milk when I pumped.  Always had to top it off with formula.
