Waking up with sudden continuous cry
« on: May 20, 2006, 21:28:32 pm »
My DD is 11 weeks old and since 3 weeks ago she sometimes wakes up with a sudden loud continuous and unstopable cry (usually around 5AM), but yesterday it happened at 7:00PM.

Initially I thought she was hungry so I fed her but than she pooped after about a minute, so I figured it must have been gas. But than last evening it was neither. She woke up after about an hour of sleep.

Anyone has any idea about the meanning of this cry? Her usual waking up cries don't start all at once and aren't continuous.

Thanks,
Tuty

Dd does this too.  I'm convinced it's bad dream so I really do my best to soothe her.  HTH :)
Blessed beyond measure.

Does she come into full wakefullness when she cries out - if she's stays asleep it it a mantra cry which a method some babies use as a self-soother as they pass from one sleep cycle to the next.

If she stays awake how long does it take to get back to sleep and what do you do to help her get back off?
