From about 6 months on.  I started mine a couple of months back.  They are fine with it.  It does take an awful lot of milk though.

we first tried Ryan with weetabix at 8 months old . we found it bunged him up though , but Ryan suffers with constipation anyway so your LO might be fine with it. Weetabix was suggested to us to try and ease constipation as it has this effect on some LO's.

we went to weetabix for breakfast at 8 months old and it has been great to solidify the nappies a bit  (guess that could be bad for some LOs though).  I give her one with whole cows milk and she eats most of it.  If she's constipated at all then I mix in some pear to counteract!!

Here in Australia they have just bought out a Weetbix for kids with extra iron and vitamins which i am going to try with my DD. I think i would wait a while though for weetbix perhaps 7/8months.

We have Weetbix here in NZ, which I'm presuming is a similar product (bar shaped things made up of flakes, that I usually crush up before adding milk to).  Anyway, here we are advised not to give it to babies under 1yr (too much fibre for them).

I have managed to find Weetabix in the USA - I stock up on them (along with Heinz Beans & Bisto  :D) when I see them so I guess they are not too common. Fraser is a Weetabix fiend so I introduced them to Arwen at around 7 months initially to bulk up her baby oatmeal. She loves them! I just hand crunch them and mix with milk and occassionally add mashed banana or other pureed fruit.

1/2 weetabix
Mash up a small banana
Mix with weetabix and milk

Just had my DS 6 month check-up and was told to hold off on wheat and barley cereals until after the first birthday. Not sure why though, I live in the US. Does that have anything to do with it? Rice and Oatmeal cereals are okay though.  Also, has anyone introduced bread yet, if so, what kind? I guess I'm not allowed to give wheat products yet. White bread or bagels maybe?

Thanks! Is wholemeal bread wheat bread?  I never heard of it. Is that a certain brand? Can I find in the US?

I'm in the US too and never heard of it here either. Is it like Nabisco Shredded Wheat? Anyone know?

We have Weetabix here in Maryland in all of our neighborhood supermarkets. It is usually on the top shelf with the specialty cereals and the granola. If you can't find it there, try looking in the organic food section of the supermarket - sometimes they stock it there.
