What foods did you give your 6mth old???
« on: May 23, 2006, 19:41:27 pm »
After the weetabix post I feel stupid asking more questions but I'm not sure what else you can give a baby other than puree's and jars of preprepared foods. I'm great at making veggie and fruit, but I read on another site that you can give your baby milkybar and cadbury's buttons??? ??? any Ideas or recipes that I can try? I'd be really grateful for your help.  ;)She loves her grub! like her mummy ::) ::).
P.s. Hattie LOVED the weetabix this morning she ate a whole biscuit with formula.thank you.

Hi there!

So glad your LO loves weetabix - William loves and adores his weetabix!

I'm amazed that youve read that you can give babies chocolate buttons and milky bar... not what I consider a good idea at all for such young babs - avoid that one!!!

At 6 months I was basically just offering Will cereals like rice, porridge and weetabix, pureed veg and fruit, 4 month baby jars (Stage 1) and that was about it. He started finger foods with the odd finger of toast with dairylea cheese spread on it too.

Have a look at the baby recipes section for ideas of what else you could have a go at.

Also this thread gives guidance about what to offer at what ages.

Hope this helps a touch!

Please don't feel silly for asking questions...that's why we're here!

I'm with Helen...I'd steer clear of the chocolate. There's plenty of time for that later!

Here's a link to a website I use a lot. It has TONS of great info that you might find helpful.
